Repair bonus
The government introduced a repair bonus for textiles and shoes on 7 November 2023. When you visit an approved repairer, a discount is applied directly to your bill—for example, to repair the heel of your shoes or patch a hole in your clothing.
What does the bonus cover?
The bonus is a discount on your bill when you have a garment or pair of shoes repaired by a professional. It covers up to 60% of the repair cost, saving you between €6 and €25.
Here are a few examples of shoe repairs:
- €8 off fitting a protective sole
- €10 to €14 off a zip replacement
- €18 to €25 off resoling.
For clothing:
- €7 off the repair of a hole or tear
- €8 to €15 off a zip replacement
- €10 to €25 off a lining replacement.
Where can I have my items repaired?
Repairs are carried out by craftspeople, dressmakers and cobblers accredited by Refashion (around 500 are accredited so far).
